Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full spectrum of high-quality MRI examinations on patients in strict accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Prioritise patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, providing clear explanations and addressing any patient concerns.
- Operate and meticulously maintain MRI scanning equipment, performing routine checks, troubleshooting minor issues, and reporting complex faults promptly.
- Accurately position patients for examinations, ensuring optimal image quality and minimising repeat scans.
- Review and evaluate imaging results for technical quality, referring to radiologists as necessary for clinical interpretation.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring strict compliance with all data protection regulations.
- Actively participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the continuous improvement of imaging services and patient pathways.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines, infection control policies, and professional codes of conduct.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and seamless patient care.
Required Skills
- A recognised Degree or Diploma in Radiography.
- Current professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or demonstrable eligibility for registration (support provided for international applicants).
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in MRI scanning.
- Comprehensive understanding of MRI safety protocols, patient screening, and contraindications.
- Proficiency in operating various MRI scanner models and associated imaging software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced post-graduate qualification in MRI or a closely related specialist field.
- Experience with a broad range of advanced MRI sequences and specialist examinations.
- Prior experience gained within a private healthcare sector setting.
