Job Description
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health Services Manager to oversee the operations and strategic direction of a key health service department in Regina. This pivotal role involves leading a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, optimizing operational efficiency, and adhering to all provincial and federal healthcare regulations. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong commitment to public health and an ability to navigate complex healthcare environments. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal performance and professional development.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in alignment with SHA objectives.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing levels efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare legislation, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation to enhance patient care outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departmental managers, physicians, and external stakeholders to facilitate integrated service delivery.
- Oversee quality assurance initiatives, risk management, and patient safety programs within the department.
- Prepare and present reports on departmental performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, human resources, and operational processes.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in healthcare information systems and standard office software.
- Ability to obtain licensure/registration with a relevant professional body in Saskatchewan, if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Health Administration (MHA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), or equivalent.
- Experience with Canadian healthcare systems and regulations.
- Proven track record in successful project management and change management initiatives.
- Certification in healthcare management or leadership.
