Job Description
Pella Corporation is seeking a skilled and dedicated Glazier to join our installation and service team in Oakland, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to work with high-quality window and door products, ensuring precision installation and superior customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, cut, and install various types of glass into frames, sashes, and other structural components for windows, doors, and other building elements.
- Prepare surfaces for glazing, including cleaning, sealing, and applying appropriate sealants and compounds.
- Inspect glass for defects and ensure proper fit and alignment according to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively, including glass cutters, grinders, drills, and sealers.
- Perform repairs and replacements of broken or damaged glass in existing installations.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper care and storage of tools and materials.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional conduct on job sites.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Glazier or in a similar role within the construction or glass industry.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing various glass types (e.g., plate, tempered, insulated, laminated).
- Strong understanding of glazing techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or certification in glazing or a related trade.
- Experience with Pella or other premium window and door systems.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations related to glass installation.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
