Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Medical Doctors to join our multidisciplinary teams across various specialties at Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg. This is an exceptional opportunity for internationally trained physicians looking to practice in Canada, as we offer comprehensive visa sponsorship and support through the licensing and immigration process. As a Medical Doctor at HSC, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory tests, X-rays, and other imaging studies.
- Prescribe medications and other therapies, and monitor patient progress and responses to treatment.
- Perform medical procedures relevant to the specialty, adhering to best practices and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Provide clear and compassionate communication to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment options.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency medical services as required.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold the highest standards of medical ethics and professionalism.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and medical education to stay abreast of advancements in medical practice.
Required Skills
- Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a recognized residency program in a relevant specialty.
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM).
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and medical ethics.
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience practicing medicine in a large, acute care hospital setting.
- Prior experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Certification by a Canadian specialty board (e.g., Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada) or equivalent international certification.
- Demonstrated interest in medical research or teaching.
- Additional language proficiencies.
