Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to join our dynamic team in Lethbridge, Alberta. This role is crucial for overseeing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management principles, and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all phases of construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progression.
- Develop and implement project schedules and ensure adherence to deadlines and milestones.
- Monitor project costs and budget, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and manage on-site construction teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process efficiently.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality control.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager in commercial or industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- PMP certification or other relevant professional accreditation.
- Experience working on projects in the Canadian market.
- Fluency in additional languages.
