Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our growing team in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a unique opportunity for qualified international candidates, as visa sponsorship is available. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients, from infants to adolescents, in various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or emergency departments. You will play a crucial role in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and patient education, working closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest standards of care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, monitor patient responses, and document all care provided.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication management, and self-care techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.
- Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with pediatric nursing best practices.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or eligibility for licensure by endorsement.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pediatric Nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with children and families.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification.
- Experience in an academic medical center or a similar large hospital setting.
- Fluency in additional languages.
