Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Engineer to join our dynamic team in Coventry, West Midlands. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate automotive components and systems for new vehicle programs, ensuring robust performance and quality.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and analysis of prototypes and production models, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and supply chain throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Perform root cause analysis for complex engineering issues and implement effective, data-driven solutions.
  • Ensure all designs and developments meet stringent performance, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g., safety, emissions).
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in automotive engineering and integrate them into project work.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive technical reports and documentation to stakeholders and senior management.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in automotive engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks) for design and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, powertrain, chassis, body, or electrical/electronic automotive systems.
  • Experience with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report), and other quality assurance tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a methodical approach to engineering challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex, and highly innovative team environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with international teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Automotive Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Direct experience with electric vehicle (EV) architectures, battery systems, or autonomous driving technologies.
  • Proven project management experience within an automotive development cycle.
  • Familiarity with specific UK and EU automotive regulations and certification processes.
