Job Description
Alamo Glass and Mirror is seeking a skilled and experienced Glazier to join our dedicated team in San Antonio, Texas. As a Glazier, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and replacement of various glass products in commercial and residential settings. Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, fit, and install glass in commercial and residential buildings, including windows, doors, shower enclosures, mirrors, and storefronts.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine materials required and installation procedures.
- Remove existing glass and frames, prepare openings, and clean surfaces for new installations.
- Apply sealants, caulking, and other finishing materials to ensure weather-tight and secure installations.
- Safely handle and transport glass panels and related materials.
- Operate hand and power tools common to the glazing trade.
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards and local building codes.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Glazier, demonstrating proficiency in both commercial and residential glass installation.
- Strong understanding of glazing techniques, materials, and safety protocols.
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install various types of glass.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to the trade.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy glass panels and work in various conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vocational training or apprenticeship completion in glazing.
- Experience with specific glass systems (e.g., curtain walls, structural glazing).
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
