Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Science Intern to join our dynamic team in Princeton, NJ. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of environmental consulting, including fieldwork, data analysis, regulatory research, and report preparation. The intern will work alongside experienced professionals on a diverse range of projects, contributing to sustainable solutions for our clients and the environment. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in environmental science, engineering, geology, or related fields who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with environmental site assessments (Phase I and Phase II).
  • Conduct fieldwork, including sample collection (soil, water, air) and monitoring activities.
  • Perform data entry, analysis, and interpretation using various software tools.
  • Research environmental regulations, permits, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other project documentation.
  • Support project managers with administrative tasks and project coordination.
  • Participate in team meetings and client interactions as appropriate.
  • Learn and adhere to health and safety protocols for all field activities.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, or a closely related field.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, NJDEP).
  • Experience with laboratory analysis or environmental sampling techniques.
  • Certification in OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training (or willingness to obtain).
