Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Geelong, Victoria. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified professionals looking to relocate to Australia, as visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of various refrigeration and HVAC systems for commercial and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a commitment to safety, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex faults in refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
- Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty components.
- Install new refrigeration and air conditioning systems according to specifications and Australian standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate service records and report on work completed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service and technical advice to clients.
- Participate in an on-call roster for emergency breakdowns as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic.
- Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) Refrigerant Handling Licence (or equivalent international qualification with eligibility for Australian recognition).
- Current C-Class Australian Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain one).
- Proven experience with commercial and industrial refrigeration systems (e.g., chillers, cool rooms, freezers).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent understanding of electrical control circuits and system schematics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- High level of commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant Australian trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) or a strong international equivalent.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Working knowledge of various refrigerants and their applications.
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform) Licence.
- Forklift Licence.
