Job Description

GDIT is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Public Trust Security Specialist to join our team in Shreveport, LA. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring compliance with government security regulations and facilitating the security clearance process for our personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of federal security policies, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security. You will work closely with candidates, project managers, and government agencies to ensure timely and accurate submission of security packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end security clearance process for new hires and existing personnel, specifically for Public Trust positions.
  • Prepare, review, and submit security clearance packages (e.g., e-QIP, SF-85, SF-85P) ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Act as a liaison between candidates, employees, and government security agencies to facilitate the adjudication process.
  • Provide guidance and support to applicants on completing security forms and responding to inquiries from adjudicators.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date security records and databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Conduct initial security screenings and verify eligibility requirements for various Public Trust levels.
  • Stay informed of changes in government security policies, directives, and procedures (e.g., NIST, DODM 5200.02, OMB M-10-37).
  • Assist in developing and implementing security awareness training programs.
  • Generate reports on security clearance status and metrics for management review.
  • Respond to security incidents or concerns as required, following established protocols.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in security administration, personnel security, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with government security clearance processes, particularly Public Trust (e.g., e-QIP, SF-85, SF-85P).
  • Strong understanding of federal security regulations and policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as National Security, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, or Business Administration.
  • Prior experience supporting federal government contracts.
  • Familiarity with various security management systems or databases.
  • Current or previous security clearance (e.g., Public Trust, Secret) is a plus.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+).
