Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Wind Energy Engineering Intern to join our team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically focusing on wind power generation. The intern will support various engineering and project development activities, contributing to the successful implementation and operation of wind energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project engineers with design reviews, technical analyses, and feasibility studies for wind farm projects.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data from existing wind turbines to identify performance trends and optimization opportunities.
- Support the development of project documentation, including schematics, reports, and presentations.
- Participate in site visits to wind energy facilities to observe construction, operations, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct research on new wind energy technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, operations, and environmental specialists.
- Contribute to problem-solving and innovative solutions for technical challenges encountered during project lifecycle.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or project experience in renewable energy, power generation, or a related engineering field.
