Job Description
We are seeking skilled and experienced Glaziers to join our dedicated installation teams in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. This is a unique opportunity for talented individuals looking to relocate to the UK, as we are offering comprehensive visa sponsorship for eligible candidates. As a Glazier, you will be responsible for the precise measurement, cutting, fitting, and finishing of glass and glazing units in a variety of residential and commercial settings. You will work with a range of materials, ensuring all installations meet our high standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure, cut, and install various types of glass and glazing systems, including windows, doors, and conservatories.
- Prepare and clean surfaces for glass installation, ensuring proper sealing and insulation.
- Safely handle and transport glass panels, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Inspect existing glass and frames to determine repair or replacement needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues on-site.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and within specified timelines.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining the installation process and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area and properly dispose of waste materials.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Glazier or in a similar role within the construction or home improvement industry.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and fitting various types of glass.
- Strong understanding of different glazing systems, materials, and tools.
- Excellent manual dexterity and precision.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in glazing.
- Experience with uPVC, timber, and aluminium glazing systems.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Experience working on both residential and commercial projects.
