Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Demand Planner to join our dynamic Supply Chain team in Salford, Greater Manchester. This critical role involves forecasting future product demand, optimizing inventory levels, and collaborating closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure seamless product availability and minimize waste. You will be instrumental in shaping our supply chain strategy and contributing directly to our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for assigned product categories using statistical models and market intelligence.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to gather insights and incorporate promotional plans, market trends, and new product introductions into forecasts.
- Analyze historical sales data, promotional activities, and external factors to identify patterns and refine forecasting methods.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with supply planning to optimize stock, reduce obsolescence, and ensure product availability.
- Identify and communicate potential supply chain risks and opportunities to stakeholders.
- Lead and participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings, presenting forecast rationale and performance metrics.
- Continuously improve demand planning processes and tools to enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports on forecast accuracy, inventory health, and key performance indicators.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Demand Planner or similar role in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Anaplan, Kinaxis).
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with various ERP systems.
