Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Agricultural Worker – Field Crew at our Brampton facility. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with no prior experience in agriculture, but who possess a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn. You will be an integral part of our mushroom cultivation and harvesting process, contributing to the quality and freshness of our products. This role involves manual labour in a controlled indoor agricultural environment, focusing on various stages from cultivation to packaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual tasks related to mushroom cultivation, including preparing growing beds and environmental controls.
- Carefully harvest mushrooms by hand, ensuring quality standards and minimizing damage.
- Sort, trim, and pack harvested mushrooms according to company specifications and food safety guidelines.
- Assist with general farm maintenance, including cleaning growing rooms, equipment, and work areas.
- Operate basic agricultural equipment and tools under supervision, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Monitor growing conditions and report any issues or abnormalities to supervisors.
- Contribute to a positive and safe working environment by following all health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills in English.
