Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dentist to join our growing team in Portland, Maine. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated dental professional to provide comprehensive oral healthcare services to our diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and will thrive in a collaborative healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth and gums.
- Provide a full range of general dental services, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, and bridges.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the MaineHealth system to ensure integrated patient care.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and professional standards of care.
- Supervise and mentor dental assistants and hygienists.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid and active dental license in the State of Maine (or eligibility to obtain).
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in general dentistry procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commitment to patient care and ethical practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certification in General Dentistry.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
