Job Description
Join the Amazon team as a Reach Truck Operator in our state-of-the-art Manchester fulfillment center. We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious individual to manage the movement of goods and materials using a reach truck. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient warehouse operations, ensuring timely processing of inventory, and supporting our commitment to rapid customer delivery. You will operate reach trucks safely and efficiently, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Certification is a significant asset, and continuous training opportunities are provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate reach trucks safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve pallets and materials.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring accuracy and careful handling of goods.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on equipment and report any maintenance issues.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including counting, scanning, and organizing stock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to achieve operational goals and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Valid Reach Truck Operator certification (desirable, but willingness to obtain is required).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or scanning equipment.
- Forklift operator certification in addition to reach truck.
- Experience in a large-scale e-commerce or logistics operation.
