Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Oncologist to join our esteemed team at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York. This is a full-time position offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer research and deliver world-class patient care. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care to oncology patients, including diagnosis, staging, treatment planning, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and supportive care specialists.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and biopsies.
  • Prescribe and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and other anti-cancer treatments.
  • Participate in tumor boards and case conferences to discuss patient management strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families about cancer diagnoses, treatment options, and potential side effects.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical research, including enrolling patients in clinical trials and contributing to study protocols.
  • Mentor residents, fellows, and other trainees, contributing to the academic mission of the center.
  • Adhere to all institutional policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Medical Oncology or Hematology-Oncology.
  • Valid medical license or eligibility for licensure in New York State.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Medical Oncology or Hematology-Oncology.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional fellowship training in a sub-specialty of oncology (e.g., GI Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, Breast Oncology).
  • Experience in clinical trial design and implementation.
  • A track record of peer-reviewed publications and research presentations.
  • Strong interest in academic medicine and medical education.
  • Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
