Job Description
Stantec is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Environmental Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team in Mississauga. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in various aspects of environmental engineering, working alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects. You will contribute to real-world solutions in areas such as site assessment, remediation, environmental impact studies, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with data collection, analysis, and interpretation for environmental projects.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations under supervision, including sampling and monitoring.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and environmental assessments.
- Perform research on environmental regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
- Utilize engineering software and tools for modeling and data management.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
- Contribute to health and safety protocols and site-specific safety plans.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's or Master's program in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong academic record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (for potential site visits).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering or environmental consulting setting.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) or GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS).
- Familiarity with environmental regulations in Ontario and Canada.
- Experience with data analysis software or statistical tools.
