Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our exceptional team at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for pediatric patients, from infancy through adolescence.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide wound care as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatments.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and home care instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Proven experience in pediatric nursing, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or relevant specialty certification (e.g., CPN, CCRN-Pediatric).
- Experience with various pediatric specialties, such as oncology, cardiology, or critical care.
- Fluency in additional languages.
