Job Description
We are immediately seeking reliable and hardworking General Construction Laborers to join our project teams in Georgetown, Washington D.C. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks crucial to site operations, ensuring projects proceed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) with various tasks.
- Perform general site clean-up and debris removal to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., shovels, rakes, jackhammers, saws).
- Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with concrete pouring and finishing, as well as demolition tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices.
- Reliable transportation to the job site in Georgetown, Washington D.C.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience on a construction site.
- Familiarity with various construction tools and equipment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
