Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to join our esteemed medical team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, addressing a wide range of health concerns from routine check-ups to complex medical conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary and secondary medical care to pediatric patients.
- Perform thorough physical examinations and assess patient health status.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in children and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication and therapies.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., blood tests, imaging).
- Administer vaccinations and provide preventative care and health education.
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment, and prognosis.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency pediatric care as required.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent
- Completion of a Pediatric Residency program
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
- Board Certification in Pediatrics (or eligibility)
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a pediatric subspecialty
- Previous experience working in a large academic pediatric hospital
- Fluency in French (an asset)
- Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
