Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Credit Analyst to join our dynamic team in Centretown, Ottawa. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of corporate and commercial clients, including historical and projected financial performance.
- Evaluate credit risk for new and existing loan applications, renewals, and modifications.
- Prepare detailed credit presentations and reports, outlining key findings, risks, and recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
- Ensure compliance with RBC's credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify early warning signs of credit deterioration, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Collaborate with relationship managers, legal teams, and other internal stakeholders to structure appropriate credit solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and market developments impacting credit risk.
- Assist in the development and implementation of credit risk models and tools.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis, financial analysis, or risk management within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA, CPA, or other relevant professional designation.
- Experience with commercial lending, real estate finance, or specialized industry sectors.
- Knowledge of Canadian banking regulations and credit risk frameworks.
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., French).
