Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team in Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for a variety of goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role is crucial in supporting our operational efficiency and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. The Procurement Officer will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and secure the best value for the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and streamline procurement processes.
  • Source and negotiate with vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, product quality, and pricing to ensure optimal value and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.

  • Analyze market and delivery trends to develop procurement plans and strategies.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including vendor contracts, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.).
  • Experience in the hospitality, food service, or large-scale venue industry.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
