Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee the operations of one of our key agricultural sites, with visa sponsorship available for the right candidate. Based out of our Manchester hub, you will manage all aspects of farm production, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to our high standards of animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and ethical farming practices. This pivotal role requires a hands-on leader passionate about modern agriculture and keen to contribute to a sustainable food chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily farm operations, including crop management, livestock care, and machinery maintenance.
• Develop and implement farm plans, budgets, and production schedules to achieve targets.
• Manage and mentor a team of farm staff, ensuring health and safety compliance and fostering a productive work environment.
• Monitor and manage soil health, irrigation, pest control, and nutrient management programs.
• Ensure compliance with all agricultural regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Implement sustainable farming practices and explore innovative agricultural technologies.
• Maintain accurate farm records, including production data, inventory, and financial transactions.
• Collaborate with agricultural specialists, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to optimize farm performance.
• Report on farm performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.
• Oversee the procurement and maintenance of farm equipment and supplies.

Required Skills

• Proven experience as a Farm Manager or in a similar senior agricultural leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of crop production, livestock management, and farm machinery.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources, and production targets effectively.
• In-depth understanding of agricultural regulations and health and safety standards.
• Proficiency in farm management software and basic computer applications.
• A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or a related field.
• Valid driver's license suitable for operating farm vehicles.
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainable and ethical farming practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Agricultural Management or related discipline.
• Experience with specific UK agricultural policies and grants.
• Certification in pesticide application or animal welfare.
• Track record of implementing innovative farming technologies.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
