Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to join our innovative engineering team in Savannah, Georgia. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced control systems for our state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and aircraft systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement industrial control systems using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and robotics.
- Program and configure various industrial automation devices and network components.
- Conduct system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for control system designs, programs, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams.
- Stay current with emerging control technologies and industry best practices to recommend improvements.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budget management.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in industrial control systems design and implementation
- Proficiency with PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell Automation)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development and configuration
- Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Profinet)
- Familiarity with robotics programming and integration
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience in the aerospace or automotive manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISA-95, IEC 61131-3
- Experience with vision systems and machine learning applications in automation
- Project management experience
- Certifications in PLC programming or industrial automation platforms
