Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Janitor / Sanitation Technician to join our food production team in Charlotte, NC. This critical role ensures the cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of our food processing facility, adhering to strict food safety regulations and company standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a sanitary environment across all production areas, equipment, and common spaces. Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of production lines, machinery, and equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment, including high-pressure hoses, scrubbers, and foamers, safely and effectively.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for thorough cleaning and sanitation.
• Prepare cleaning solutions and use chemicals safely, ensuring proper dilution and application.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness in break rooms, restrooms, offices, and other common areas.
• Remove waste and recycling from designated areas, ensuring proper disposal.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify areas requiring attention and ensure compliance with all food safety (HACCP, GMP) and occupational safety (OSHA) standards.
• Document cleaning activities and sanitation records accurately.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or sanitation issues to supervision promptly.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Required Skills

• Ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS) and follow chemical handling instructions.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and sanitation principles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, and reach.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in sanitation or janitorial roles, preferably within a food manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP principles.
• Experience with industrial cleaning equipment.
