Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified international candidates, as we are offering visa sponsorship. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists, ensuring the efficient and accurate dispensing of medications, and providing exceptional customer service. You will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards of patient care and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all legal and ethical guidelines.
• Manage prescription data entry, maintain patient profiles, and process third-party billing.
• Handle inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
• Provide clear and concise information to patients regarding their prescriptions, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing records, and preparing reports.
• Adhere to all provincial and federal pharmacy regulations and company policies.
• Operate pharmacy software and automated dispensing systems efficiently.
• Support the pharmacist in providing various clinical services and patient care initiatives.

Required Skills

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board (NLPB).
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, drug names, and dosage calculations.
• Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Experience with inventory management and ordering systems.
• Knowledge of Canadian healthcare regulations and pharmacy best practices.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
