Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Retail Visual Merchandiser Trainee to join our dynamic team in Vancouver. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about fashion, design, and creating captivating visual displays. You will work closely with our experienced visual merchandising team to learn the art and science of display creation, store layout, and product presentation. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior visual merchandisers in executing seasonal and promotional merchandise displays throughout the store.
- Learn and apply visual merchandising guidelines to ensure brand consistency and optimize product presentation.
- Support the setup and takedown of visual elements, including mannequins, fixtures, and signage.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of visual props and storage areas.
- Observe customer flow and interaction with displays, contributing ideas for improvement.
- Assist with inventory management related to visual props and store fixtures.
- Stay informed about current fashion trends and competitor visual strategies.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong passion for fashion and retail aesthetics
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Basic understanding of design principles and color theory
- Physical ability to lift, move, and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrolment in or completion of a visual merchandising, fashion design, or related program
- Previous retail experience, especially in a customer-facing role
- Portfolio showcasing creative projects (even if personal)
- Proficiency with basic hand tools for display assembly
