Job Description

Amazon is seeking highly motivated and talented university students for a Remote Software Engineer Internship. This internship offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, contribute to real-world applications, and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies. As an intern, you will collaborate with experienced software development engineers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the full software development lifecycle of Amazon’s innovative products and services. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within Canada.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions across various Amazon platforms.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following Amazon's engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Actively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure high-quality software.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define and deliver features.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring high-quality software delivery and system reliability.
• Learn and adapt to new technologies, programming languages, and development methodologies as needed.
• Document technical designs and specifications for developed features and components.

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, C++, Python, or C#.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design principles.
• Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies, including version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to break down complex issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship experience in software development or a related technical role.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated services.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architecture, or large-scale applications.
• Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) or back-end frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Node.js).
• A strong academic record and demonstrable passion for technology and innovation.
