Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in Calgary. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating various risks across the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of financial markets, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks. You will be instrumental in ensuring the bank’s continued stability and compliance, working closely with various business units to embed robust risk practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk.
• Analyze complex financial data and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Prepare detailed risk reports and presentations for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor key risk indicators and develop early warning systems for emerging risks.
• Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and business units to ensure risk mitigation strategies are effective.
• Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices in risk management.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts within the risk team.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management within the financial services industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in risk modeling techniques and software (e.g., SAS, Python, R).
• Excellent understanding of financial products, markets, and regulatory environments.
• Ability to communicate complex risk concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM).
• Experience with stress testing and scenario analysis methodologies.
• Familiarity with IFRS 9, Basel III, and other relevant regulatory standards.
• Previous experience working with large datasets and advanced data analysis tools.
