Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is a unique opportunity for talented individuals globally, as visa sponsorship is available. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in integrating security practices into every phase of the software development lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and operations. You will champion security automation, collaborate with development and operations teams, and ensure our systems are resilient against evolving threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security tools and processes within our CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing on applications and infrastructure.
- Automate security controls, threat modeling, and incident response procedures.
- Collaborate with development teams to embed security best practices early in the development lifecycle (Shift-Left Security).
- Monitor security systems for anomalies, investigate incidents, and provide remediation recommendations.
- Develop and deliver security training and awareness programs for engineering teams.
- Stay current with the latest security threats, technologies, and regulations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture and compliance initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and practices (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) and methodologies.
- Solid grasp of networking, operating systems, and web application security.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, Azure Security Engineer).
- Experience with threat modeling frameworks (e.g., STRIDE, PASTA).
- Prior experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
