Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and analytically-minded Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This role is crucial in supporting the identification, assessment, and mitigation of various financial and operational risks across our business units. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments across various business functions.
- Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and produce insightful reports on risk trends and exposures.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of risk policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for senior management, committees, and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate effectively with various business units, internal audit, and compliance teams to understand their risk profiles and provide tailored advice and support.
- Support the integration of risk management practices into day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making processes.
- Participate in stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital adequacy assessments.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks relevant to the financial services sector.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a risk management, analytical, or quantitative role within the financial services industry.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., advanced Excel, SQL; knowledge of Python or R is a plus).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts clearly and concisely.
- Solid understanding of financial products, markets, and risk methodologies (credit risk, market risk, operational risk).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM).
- Experience with risk management software platforms and reporting tools.
- In-depth knowledge of specific regulatory frameworks applicable to the UK financial sector (e.g., Basel III, CRD, PRA rules).
