Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics & Supply Chain Specialist to join our team in Hamburg, Germany. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods and information within our global network. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in an international, English-speaking environment. You will be instrumental in optimizing our supply chain processes, managing relationships with carriers and clients, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage documentation for customs clearance, shipping, and delivery.
- Communicate proactively with clients, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipment status and potential issues.
- Optimize logistics processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions for improvement.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and service providers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and prepare reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with all national and international shipping regulations and company policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any logistics-related problems or discrepancies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or freight forwarding.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; no German language skills are required.
- Strong understanding of international shipping procedures, customs regulations, and Incoterms.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with logistics software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of German logistics market and regulations.
