Job Description

Deloitte is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Risk Manager to join our dynamic team in Manchester. This pivotal role will be responsible for leading and managing risk advisory engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. You will play a crucial part in helping organizations identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor strategic, operational, financial, and reputational risks. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in risk management frameworks, regulatory compliance, and business resilience, coupled with exceptional leadership and client-facing skills. You will guide junior team members, develop innovative risk solutions, and contribute significantly to the growth of our Risk Advisory practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex risk advisory engagements, overseeing project delivery from inception to completion.
• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies and frameworks for clients.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments, identifying key risks and developing effective mitigation plans.
• Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and internal control systems.
• Manage client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and identifying new business opportunities.
• Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering their professional development and technical capabilities.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders and client boards.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to proactively advise clients.
• Contribute to thought leadership and the development of new services within the Risk Advisory practice.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, audit, or consulting within a professional services environment or large corporate setting.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering complex risk advisory projects.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, COSO ERM) and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, PRA).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and tools.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or MBA.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CRISC, or CISA.
• Experience with data analytics tools for risk management.
• Prior experience in a Big Four firm or a leading consulting practice.
