Job Description

IBM is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be instrumental in integrating security practices into every stage of the software development lifecycle, ensuring our applications and infrastructure are robust, secure, and compliant. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to implement automated security checks, establish secure coding guidelines, and respond to security incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using automation tools.
• Integrate security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA) into the development workflow.
• Automate security controls, threat modeling, and vulnerability management processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
• Participate in security reviews of application designs and code.
• Develop and enforce secure coding standards and best practices.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and provide timely resolution.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
• Provide guidance and mentorship on DevSecOps best practices to team members.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA).
• Understanding of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and WAF.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Ability to analyze security threats and vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or relevant cloud security certifications.
• Experience with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Prior experience in a large enterprise environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
