Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in Montreal. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks across various business units. You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement robust risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analyses across different business lines and products.
- Monitor key risk indicators and report on emerging risks and trends to management.
- Develop and maintain risk models and frameworks to quantify and manage various types of risk.
- Assist in the preparation of risk reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and other departments to ensure integrated risk management practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new risk policies, procedures, and controls.
- Participate in ad-hoc risk-related projects and initiatives as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a risk management, finance, or analytical role within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and risk management principles.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA).
- Experience with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel, OSFI guidelines).
- Familiarity with risk management software and systems.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset.
