Job Description

Join the viticulture team at Mission Hill Family Estate Winery as a Seasonal Vineyard Worker, focusing primarily on pruning during the critical winter season. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn about viticulture and contribute to the growth cycle of premium wine grapes. No prior experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a vital role in preparing our vines for a successful growing season, working outdoors in various weather conditions and contributing directly to the quality of our future harvests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform meticulous winter pruning of grapevines according to established viticultural standards.
  • Follow instructions from vineyard supervisors regarding pruning techniques and daily tasks.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and attention to detail to ensure vine health and future yield.
  • Assist with other general vineyard tasks as required, such as trellis repair or clean-up.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use equipment responsibly.
  • Work effectively as part of a team in an outdoor environment.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (cold, rain, snow).
  • Physical stamina and dexterity for repetitive tasks, including bending, lifting, and prolonged standing.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation to the vineyard site.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agriculture, landscaping, or outdoor manual labor is a plus, but not required.
