Job Description
As a Video Captioner / Subtitler at Netflix, you will play a crucial role in making our vast library of content accessible and enjoyable for a global audience. You will be responsible for creating precise and culturally relevant captions and subtitles for a variety of film and television content, ensuring high quality and adherence to Netflix’s style guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Generate accurate and synchronized captions and subtitles for a wide range of video content (films, series, documentaries).
- Translate and localize subtitles while maintaining the original meaning, tone, and cultural nuances for various target languages.
- Ensure compliance with Netflix's specific style guides, technical specifications, and accessibility standards.
- Perform quality control and proofreading of existing captions and subtitles to ensure linguistic accuracy, grammatical correctness, and perfect synchronization.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of timing and synchronization principles for captions and subtitles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain focus over extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in one or more additional languages relevant to Netflix's global audience (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean).
- Experience with accessibility standards (e.g., ADA, WCAG) and closed captioning for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH).
