Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our dynamic team as Air-Port Ground Staff at Manchester Airport. In this essential on-site role, you will be crucial to the efficient operation of aircraft turnarounds, passenger baggage handling, and overall airport safety. This is a fast-paced environment where teamwork and attention to detail are paramount. You will be working directly on the ramp, exposed to various weather conditions, and operating specialized airport equipment. Full training will be provided to ensure you meet all regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail onto and off aircraft safely and efficiently.
• Operate ground support equipment (GSE) such as tugs, belt loaders, and pushback tractors following all safety protocols.
• Marshal aircraft on arrival and departure using standard hand signals.
• Provide essential services to aircraft, including water servicing, lavatory servicing, and ground power unit (GPU) connections.
• Perform visual inspections of aircraft and the ramp area, reporting any discrepancies or hazards.
• Adhere strictly to all airport and company safety and security procedures.
• Communicate effectively with flight crews, airline representatives, and colleagues to ensure seamless operations.
• Assist passengers with special needs if required, such as wheelchair assistance.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the ramp and designated work areas.

Required Skills

• Excellent physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 32kg) repeatedly.
• Strong commitment to safety and security protocols in an airport environment.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills (English, both written and verbal) to relay information clearly.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Possession of a valid UK driving license (essential for airside driving privileges).
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and obtain an Airside Pass.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an aviation, logistics, or physically demanding environment.
• Familiarity with airport ground handling equipment and procedures.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Basic First Aid certification.
