Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Furniture Delivery Driver to join our team in Abilene, Texas. As a Furniture Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering furniture to our customers’ homes, ensuring a positive and professional experience. This role involves careful handling of merchandise, basic furniture assembly, and clear communication with both customers and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate company delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Load and unload furniture items, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Deliver furniture to customer homes, placing items in designated rooms as requested.
• Perform basic in-home furniture assembly and setup.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
• Verify product accuracy against delivery manifests and obtain customer signatures.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area.
• Work effectively with a delivery assistant or team member.

Required Skills

• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and move heavy furniture items (up to 100 lbs or more with assistance) on a regular basis.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform basic furniture assembly.
• Attention to detail and careful handling of merchandise.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience (1+ years) in furniture delivery or a related field.
• Experience operating 24-26 ft box trucks (non-CDL).
• Familiarity with the Abilene, Texas area and surrounding routes.
• DOT medical card (if applicable for vehicle class).
