Job Description
We are seeking a charismatic and organised Restaurant Host / Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests at our bustling Epsom location. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, managing reservations efficiently, and ensuring a seamless flow of customers into our dining area. This is an on-site position vital to the smooth operation of our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome all guests upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage the reservation system efficiently, seating guests promptly according to their bookings and availability.
- Handle walk-in guests, providing accurate wait times and seating them as soon as possible.
- Answer phone calls professionally, taking reservations and addressing guest inquiries.
- Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and introducing them to their server.
- Maintain a tidy and organised reception area, including coat check services where applicable.
- Assist with managing the dining room flow, communicating with servers and management regarding table availability and guest needs.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints gracefully, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Support the restaurant team with light duties as required to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6 months+) in a host/hostess or customer service role within the hospitality industry.
