Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and community-focused Virtual Blog Comment Moderator to join our content team. This fully remote role involves reviewing, approving, and responding to comments on our various blog posts and articles, ensuring a positive, respectful, and engaging environment for our readers. The ideal candidate will have excellent written communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of online community guidelines and best practices. You will be instrumental in fostering a vibrant and safe online community around Jumia’s content.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and moderate all incoming comments on Jumia Group's blogs and articles in a timely and consistent manner.
 - Ensure comments adhere to established community guidelines, accurately identifying and removing spam, offensive content, or inappropriate discussions.
 - Engage proactively with the community by responding to questions, fostering constructive discussions, and escalating complex issues or user feedback to relevant internal teams.
 - Identify and report recurring issues, emerging trends, or potential threats to the brand's online reputation to the content and marketing teams.
 - Maintain a consistent, professional, and brand-aligned tone of voice in all interactions.
 - Collaborate closely with the content and marketing teams to develop and enhance community engagement strategies and improve user experience.
 
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in online moderation, community management, or a similar role, demonstrating sound judgment and attention to detail.
 - Excellent written communication skills in English, with impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
 - Ability to make quick, sound judgments regarding content suitability in accordance with predefined guidelines.
 - High level of empathy and understanding of diverse online communities and cultural nuances.
 - Familiarity with blog platforms, content management systems, and social media moderation tools.
 - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and a high volume of comments effectively.
 - Reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home office setup suitable for remote work.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field.
 - Basic understanding of SEO principles related to comments and user-generated content.
