Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Molecular Biologist to join our dynamic research and development team in Prescott, AZ. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, executing, and analyzing complex molecular biology experiments, contributing to the development of novel diagnostic assays and the advancement of our understanding of disease mechanisms. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate scientific discoveries into clinical applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology techniques, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute molecular biology experiments, including PCR, qPCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows.
• Perform RNA/DNA extraction, quantification, and quality control from various biological samples.
• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, presenting findings clearly and concisely to scientific teams.
• Develop, optimize, and validate new molecular diagnostic assays and protocols.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including experimental procedures, results, and analyses.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
• Collaborate effectively with biochemists, bioinformaticians, and clinical scientists.
• Contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving for challenging technical issues.
• Ensure adherence to quality control standards, safety regulations, and good laboratory practices (GLP).

Required Skills

• Master's or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques (excluding academic coursework).
• Proficiency in PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and quantification.
• Experience with cloning and plasmid manipulation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) platforms and data analysis.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and software.
• Prior experience in an industry setting (e.g., diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology).
• Knowledge of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and electronic lab notebooks.
• Experience with assay development and validation under regulatory guidelines (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
