Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter and Decorator to join our team in Laredo, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paints, stains, and other finishes to a variety of interior and exterior surfaces. This role requires an eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results for our diverse client base. You will work on residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, and filling cracks and holes.
- Mix and match paints, stains, and other finishes to achieve desired colors and textures.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths and masking tape.
- Ensure proper ventilation and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and address any imperfections.
- Clean up work areas and equipment upon job completion.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and other team members.
- Adhere to project timelines and budget constraints.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painter and Decorator
- Excellent knowledge of painting techniques and procedures
- Familiarity with various types of paint, stains, and finishes
- Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for color
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship program
- Experience with specialty finishes or decorative painting techniques
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills
