Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our vibrant team in Scottsdale, AZ. This role involves planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate educational activities that foster the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of young children. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of early childhood development principles, a nurturing approach, and a commitment to creating a safe and stimulating learning environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a curriculum that aligns with Bright Horizons' educational philosophy and state licensing requirements.
- Create a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Observe, assess, and document children’s progress and development, communicating regularly with parents.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ensure the health and safety of all children in your care, adhering to all center policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and center leadership to ensure a high-quality educational experience.
Required Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Strong understanding of child development theories and practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
- Experience with emergent curriculum or Reggio Emilia approach
- Familiarity with NAEYC accreditation standards
