Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Loading Dock Worker to join our team in Sugar Land, TX. As a Loading Dock Worker, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of goods on and off our loading docks. This includes receiving, sorting, loading, and unloading merchandise, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail distribution setting. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that products are ready for store delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks manually or using powered equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided if needed).
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies, reporting issues to supervisors.
• Sort and stage merchandise according to established procedures, ensuring accurate placement.
• Operate scanning equipment to track inventory movement and update records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized loading dock area, including removing debris and sweeping.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, especially those related to operating equipment and handling heavy loads.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet daily production goals.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including packing, picking, and general maintenance.

Required Skills

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects regularly (up to 50 lbs.)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling merchandise.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Basic communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail receiving environment.
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems or scanning technology.
