Job Description
FedEx is seeking dedicated and reliable Package Delivery Drivers to join our team in Garland, TX. As a Package Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering packages to residential and business customers. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. You will operate company vehicles, manage delivery routes, and ensure packages arrive on time and in perfect condition. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Efficiently load, unload, and deliver packages to various locations within a designated route.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring safe delivery and minimizing damage.
- Verify accurate package counts and complete necessary delivery documentation.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing FedEx positively.
- Manage delivery schedule to meet service commitments and delivery deadlines.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Utilize handheld scanning devices and other technologies for route management and proof of delivery.
- Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times, including proper lifting techniques.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs regularly, and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local geography and ability to navigate routes efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving or a similar role.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
