Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers and project managers with various tasks related to civil engineering projects, including data collection, analysis, and report preparation.
  • Learn and utilize industry-standard software for design, modeling, and drafting (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
  • Conduct site visits to assist with surveys, inspections, and data gathering, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation under supervision.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions, offering insights and learning from feedback.
  • Support the development of proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities, including formal training and mentorship sessions.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant post-secondary program (e.g., Civil Engineering Technology diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or related field).
  • Demonstrated strong academic performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A genuine interest in civil infrastructure and a desire for continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience or exposure to engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or volunteer experience in a related field.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with local British Columbia engineering standards and regulations.
