Job Description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our thriving practice in Fort Worth, Texas. Key Responsibilities

• Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing for adult and pediatric patients.
• Conduct comprehensive oral health assessments, including charting, periodontal probing, and intraoral/extraoral exams.
• Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays) as prescribed by the dentist.
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide under the supervision of a dentist, where permitted by state regulations.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventative care, and post-operative instructions.
• Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants.
• Document accurate and thorough patient records, including medical history, treatments, and future recommendations.
• Sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean, organized, and compliant operatory.
• Collaborate effectively with dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Required Skills

• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Current Dental Hygienist license in good standing, or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in dental software systems (e.g., Dentrix, EagleSoft).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
• Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, periodontal disease, and preventative care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and quality care.
• Demonstrated empathy and patience towards diverse patient populations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of clinical experience as a Dental Hygienist.
• Experience with digital radiography and intraoral cameras.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations.
• Fluency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
• Certification in laser dentistry (diode laser) is a bonus.
